[PSUBS-MAILIST] Scaled-Down Replicas of Modern Sub Designs...

Request granted.  That subject line is for the guy who's trying to manage his time.  Hope it's detailed enough, ha ha!  I know what it's like to get a ton of e-mail, not all of it being of interest.

Someone mentioned that scaling down a modern sub design to build a personal sub was not a particularly good idea.  Now before I start building a miniature Seawolf or something what are the drawbacks?  I can see where surfaced (versus submerged) stability might be an issue.

>"Support group"?   If we were truly normal, we'd be
making shelves for the garage instead of planning
submarines.  We're OK.   You have to believe that.
It helps *me* when explaining this topic and my
interest at Thanksgiving dinners.<

I've progressed from homebuilt airplanes and boats to the need to build a sub.  But of course, that still won't be enough, even when it's done.  From there, I reckon I might investigate zeppelins, and after that, maybe address the fact that I don't think it's fair that NASA, the Russian Space Agency, and a few others have space all to themselves.  I'm just wondering what it's going to cost me to do a private space shot.  And how long I can conceal the idea from the wife.  She's getting to be sort of a nervous type lately, always checking the barn to make sure I'm not building anything, and she's picked up the terrible habit of frequently predicting my imminent doom, LOL!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Cheers!
