Interesting. Yeah, it was a little while ago, but as a side topic someone had mentioned the idea of using some aspects of automotive technology (like powering most of your sub stuff on 12vDC). A simple and already established technology that wouldn't be too difficult to adapt to a sub. I myself work in the auto industry, so I'm looking at using that approach as much as I can, as I'm familiar with it. Then someone mentioned the 36 or 42v systems some automakers are toying with, n I thought I'd post that link. Just an addition to the already huge stockpile of knowledge here at Psubs Inc. ;)

Oceanographics in Riviera Beach, Florida.
One of the engineers told me the brushless DC propulsion motors use 120 VDC. I
think they recharged them when the voltage went down to 60 VDC.
