[PSUBS-MAILIST] Sinister Intent - re JPalominonoire, come in spinner
Hi all,
apologies in advance for going semi-OT.
I think one thing is being overlooked. Just who is this JPalominonoire@aol.com? has anyone here run across him/her/'them' before this emotive diatribe was unleashed?
Trolling for responses used to be a common problem on the newsgroups (and still is on some). The designed intent was frequently to disrupt them.
I did a quick search of PSUBS - no previous posting by that email name.
aol.com - ? apologies to those legitimate users, but what does it take to set up some ficticious account? won't an email sent from a USA based webmail provider mask the senders true IP address and append aol's USA IP?
looks sorta like a name. No J. Palominonoire, or J Palomino for that matter in the USA white pages (google search off the aol website). I couldnt get to any aol profile to find out who this is.
language use does not indicate a strong command (written at least)of english as would be expected by a native speaker. Just what part of the USA did this 'patriot' say he was from?
just why do they feel SOOOO strongly on this subject?
palomino-noire? i have some thoughts on that too, but i wont share them.
I doubt there will be any call from lawyers, or any sub designs submitted either. But we r pissed off, some of us may even consider calling our own lawyers for peace of mind. short consultations shouldnt cost much. ties up a phone call. takes you away from work for a little while. any of u guys work in the military?
unless one of the PSUBS moderators can vouch for this person, i would suggest the intent was simply to sow dissent, uncertainty and to increase net traffic - as has happened. to even revisit this or comment on my email just agravates the whole situation.
one question (Warren?) - when did this person join?
conspiracies, sorry :( just the timing makes me wonder.
cheers
peter
P.S. hope to include similar levels of paranoia in any sub designs :))
