That is a very good point. It might be nice to have a couple transponders and either an electronic selector switch or a few independant "fish finder" displays. I think I would want one facing down and one that could rotate horizontally, at least. I want to be able to see the layout of the terrain beneath me. What about putting the transponder on a ball pivot? You know...My dad invented a 3D scanning joint that just might be applicable. It just used a special ball joint and a speed controll to swing the sensor into any possible position...
