Now that you mention it, I don't remember any German gulls in "Das Boot." Hmmm. Have you uncovered another conspiracy? By the way, the great WW2 sub skipper and author of "Run Silent,Run Deep", Retired USN Captain Ned Beach, died just last week. He also skippered the USS Triton on its record breaking submerged voyage in the 1960's. Also, be sure and check out "Destination Tokyo" and "Submarine Command". Regards, Mark Steed
