Seriously, no. I'm not much of a fisherman. I'd have been
interested in using it for girl-watching.

Back in about 1977 I called Dr. Andres Rechnitzer, then the Navy's
head of the hull penetration work. We had a few talks about ways
to transmit power or control impulses without poking holes in the
hull.

Apparently, most of what I said was top secret. He never said
much of anything beyond pure theory, but I was kinda specific
about some ideas.

Naturally, somone heard about it, and I got a phone call ...
I was able to avoid problems by quoting Busby (I'd checked
out the copy in the Virginia State Library) and by being
logical.

Perhaps some times it does not pay to check out one's
ideas with the experts. Tom Clancy got the same kind
of phone calls about some stuff in his books. Both of
were working from open sources and had no "inside"
contacts.
