RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] video: was Busby Book Copyright

Hi Pat,

I don't know if you'd be interested at all but I have some pretty good video
footage of my submarine racing, including the run where our propeller
collapsed (whoops! fortunately we had a backup!) complete with the director
saying (into his underwater mike) something along the lines of "hmm, UBC
seems to be going much slower than usual in this run." Although we were
never in any danger, it was quite a shock when it happened. It also goes to
show the value of testing everything backwards and forwards. Quite
literally. We had tested the propeller a number of times and put it on
backwards every time. When we finally put it on forwards it folded up like
a piece of tinfoil. Hehe, live and learn! I also say that in an ideal
world, everyone should build nice safe wet subs before moving on to the real
thing so that they can experience that sort of thing in relative safety.

BTW we are putting a lot more effort into propeller design (and strength)
this year.
