I was joking. You do know I was joking, right? Actually, a far worse perversion of the Verne's character was a "Captain Nemo" cartoon they used to run during Captain Kangaroo. Even as young as I was then, I knew there was something just not right about the kindly Captain with two lovable kiddie sidekicks, actings as an agent of the government or something.
