I once did something like that.  As a lad I used to string the ropes from our 
sailboat up in the trees.  I'd swing between them, sometimes slide down from 
the top of one to tree to the bottom of another with a pulley, etc.  I'd 
actually pretend I was a pirate on a tall ship.

Once I tied a rope around my waist and lept for a tree in the neighbors yard. 
 I missed and accidently discovered the thrill of bungee jumping.  I ended up 
hanging from my belt loops 5 feet off the neighbors yard.  I didn't have a 
proper harness, and my jeans were giving me a serious wedgie.  My idiot 
friend ran into the house and said "Mrs Svoboda we need a knife to cut down 
your son who is hanging by a rope in the yard!".  Which of course freaked her 
out and sent her running and screaming into the yard after me.
