Congratulations are due...

Hi, Gary :
Thanks for posting the website for the National Public Radio thing
on the 'DeepWorker' - I didn't get to hear it, so I will look it up! I
think we'll get a copy of it, though . .the interviewer called to say they
got a very good response and our admin person (Catherine) asked for a DAT
copy.( These guys are usually pretty good about that sort of thing . .
.they want to do a bunch more 'undersea adventure' interviews during the
'Sustainable Seas Expeditions' over the next four years). Thanks to your
posting, I wont have to wait!
They did the interview in Monterey, on the sand dunes right at the
ocean-edge in front of the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute. The
surf was pounding in so hard that I'm suprised that you could hear anything
else! We were training a group of seventy marine scientists to dive the
DeepWorkers . . .it was great to be there 'cause we had a lot of old
friends and colleagues going through the course...Edie Witter - Johnson
'SeaLink' pilot,, Dr. Bruce Robison - 'Wasp' and 'DeepRover' pilot, Don
Walsh - 'the deepest man' - Sylvia Earle, Emory Kristof, Guys that had
operated Nektons, Soucoupe, Puce de Mer, Pisces., Mantis, Alvin, and on
and on. Sure cool to watch them roaring around in the little DeepWorkers -
having more fun than a bunch of kids!

Regards
