Hi, Ray - that's exactly what I have in mind.  I just posted some info on a
conversion I'm about to start on a canoe.  I'm using it as a hydrodynamic form to
surround some ballast tanks and a cockpit.  The canopy will be thick, but, mainly to
compensate for deltaP due to wave action, bumps and momentary lags in compensation.
