Since my sub has twin conns, each man gets his own hatch and conn, the conn is 24 in.

in dia. and the bulk of your body is in the hull with your shoulder and head in the
conn,
view ports run around the conns, the passenger, behind the pilot, is of coarse minus
1 view port, the one that looks forward...
If you sit upright in a chair, then measure the back of your "back side" to the front
of your knees then x2 + six to eight or so inches in-between the pilot and passenger
then you can see how this can work.
Yes, its not the nautilus from 2000 leagues,  but the view is great and its fairly
comfortable.
