question
  Hi to all,

I've been doing research on DC thrusters only to
find out how expensive they are (when waterproofed for deep ocean
environments).  I don't plan on having my submersible go down more than 100
meters (+ safety factor) and so I figured I could just design a waterproof
housing for my motors.  Of course that means I need to find a company which
makes watertight gaskets...and things like that for "harsh"
environments...does anyone have any ideas of who to contact?

Also, I found a plastics company in Germany
which builds canopies for jets, helicopters, etc...and they said they've made
canopies up to 11" thick.  If you're looking for a place to have a
mould and/or an acrylic canopy made (I'm not sure how steep their prices are)
try: http://www.plexiweiss.de They also
have a process for laying down a "scratch resistant" layer, which is
probably real important.

Thanks,

Gareth
