WSI'96 TV Production wins Award!
*********
Cool news!
UCSD-TV's production covering Scripps Institution's WSI'96, "The
Submariners," garnered a first place award from the National Community
Broadcasters Association.
The story of this "event by submariners, for submariners," is told entirely
by the experimental submariners themselves. The program highlights the
history, physics, and operation of human powered submarines. The story
includes a tribute to the young Yale College student, David Bushnell, whose
human powered submarine, "Turtle," played an important role in the American
War of Independence.
Thanks to all who helped make "The Submariners" possible!
Congratulations to Rich Wargo, Science Producer, UCSD-TV, for the hundreds of
hours he put into the scripting, filming, and production of this educational
documentary.
