Thanks for that drawing Jens.I assume the rod is threaded and as you turn counter-clockwise the hook pivots to a point where the weight is released. It looks like the hook would require a pivot point where it connects to the rod entering the cabin since the hook would eventually bind up as it lowered. Or is that why it looks like there is some kind of offset on the pin holding the hook to the frame of the sub?
I'm curious how much effort is required to turn such a setup when there is 700 lbs or so to release. I had already considered a similar setup using just a good sized single bolt (see attachment) but the cam idea is probably better.
