Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Divelink Comms

Hi All,

Thanks for the advice.  Ive managed to negotiate a 15% discount from DiveLink as i would be buying two.  But, i dont like the sound of the single earpiece idea, plus the ots ones look better.

Im going to the a commercial diving team later this week as they use OTS kit and have said i can have a tinker around with it.  I'll see how it looks.

Jon, i'll be in touch if i decide to go OTS.  A discount would be great.

And, the "scratch and dent" thing looks like its worth keeping an eye on as well, thanks for the tip Dan.

Kind Regards
James

Hi James,

Yes, I use the Divelink comms. They work fine and are adequate for a K boat. One detail that I was slightly disappointed with when I first got them is that the headphones only have a speaker on one side, the other being used as a battery compartment. You can certainly get them for a lot less than the list price on eBay, but you have to wait as they only show up very occasionally. Now having said all that, I'd be the first to say if you can get a set of OTS comms they are both more powerful and more ruggedly built.

Thanks,

Alec

Subject: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Divelink Comms

Hi all,

Im pretty sure im going to buy 2 x the Divelink COM-S01R UW radios.

One unit will go on my boat with the transducer mounted to the transom (or possibly even just dangled over the side), the other will fit inside the sub.  The transducer cable has a 2 wire connection which im 90% sure will work if spliced through the BBH4F low power bulkhead connection that i have already fitted..

This is an expensive purchase but i feel neccesary for the waters around here.  The other 2 pins on the bulkhead connector im going to use for the depth sounder transducer.

The COM-S01R commes in at $1042 each.

Before i spend this, anyone have any tips, advice, horror stories?  Something better to use??

I seem to remember Alec using one in one of the videos.

Kind Regards
James
