True, however all CO2 monitors are expensive and when you add the cost of a separate O2 monitor and then consider some of the features provided by Analox and Crowcon it's not too difficult to justify going with a single all inclusive unit. For example, Crowcon sells a single gas (CO2) monitor called the GASMAN with retail prices anywhere from $650-$800 (US). Now add an O2 sensor from OxyCheq for around $300 (US) and you're above the cost of the Crowcon T3 with O2 and CO2 sensors included. Even if you purchase the OxyCheq "El Cheapo" unit and build it yourself the combined cost with a CO2 monitor is going to be in the $500-800(US) range. Also consider that the Analox and Crowcon units allow you to set alarms and collect logging information via computer interface, and the Analox aspira unit is specifically certified for submarine use. Those may be nice features you can use and may be worth the extra money. Jon On 4/26/2011 11:05 AM, James Frankland wrote:
