About $180AUD for 4 or 5 litres! J I know how expensive it is! J 2 part epoxy automotive paint is cheaper than marine 2 part… and they are both epoxy’s…. similar stuff… the marine one is slightly tougher and UV resistant for marine purposes… especially the bits underwater that get growth on them etc… I would be careful using paints that could possibly give off noxious fumes… your going to be sealed up in the thing for a period of time! But that’s about it! J as you said… the inside “shouldn’t” get too wet… Regards, Stewart Gardiner Terminal Solutions 0405332399 From: owner-personal_submersibles@psubs.org [mailto:owner-personal_submersibles@psubs.org] On Behalf Of James Frankland Hi Stewart. The cheap paint isnt a 2 pac epoxy, im not sure what it is but its nothing special, just the sort of stuff you'd use on a gate. The marine epoxy is proper stuff, but it costs a fortune. J From: owner-personal_submersibles@psubs.org [mailto:owner-personal_submersibles@psubs.org] On Behalf Of James Frankland Hi All, Im going to paint the inside of my battery pods today. As theoretically, the insides should not get wet, i was thinking of using just a normal metal paint like Hammerite or something. A straight forward paint that you would use to paint outdoor railings and things with. Do you think this will be ok or should i go for the "proper" 2 part epoxy marine primer? Its just really expensive. What do you think? Thanks James |
