Hi all, I was given a recommendation from Sofnalime people in UK that I should go for 2 air changes per hour which for 2 cubic meters of air space is 4000 litres / hour or down to cfm less than 2.5 cfm. I think there is a danger of having too big a fan with these scrubbers from what I am seeing. 2.5 cfm over an area of ½ a square foot gives an air speed of 1inch per second. The dwell time recommended is 0.5 seconds so with 6 inches depth of pack I reckon I am covered. A small axial computer fan is about 25 cfm so with the pack resistance it can be 10% efficient. The squirrel cage fan I think is too strong. Is there something wrong with my reasoning or calcs? I remember putting my hand over the DW2000 and there was not much air coming out but, obviously, enough.. Hugh From: owner-personal_submersibles@psubs.org [mailto:owner-personal_submersibles@psubs.org] On Behalf Of Cliff Redus Alec If you find your axial fans do not give you the CO2 scrubbing performance you want, Digikey.com has quite a nice selection of small radial centrifugal fans. As an example http://www.eminebea.com/content/pdf/TMP00124/I/bg0703.pdf They make these fans/blowers to fit the mounting arrangements for small axial fans so they may not take up as much room as you might expect. That's what I call faith in a father, to be sealed up in a steel can for several hours based on your reassuring word! Or it could be, that with two subs under contruction, this is the only quality time she can get with you! Cliff
