This solution is untried & open to criticism, but you could make up a thick paste of colloidal silica
& epoxy & smear it over the ct ring then put a mold release agent on the hatch ring. Maybe fill the
O-ring grove with Vaseline & close the hatch tight for 12 hours. You'll be left with a few small voids
that need tidying up including the o-ring grove. Might be a problem if you have a half dovetail grove.
Would try it on two bits of steel first in case they don't come apart.

I need Idea's to get my ct ring surface to mate with my hatch ring as it has warped by + -  2mm in the welding
process.
