I have an interesting book: "The Kaiten Weapon" as told by Yutaka Yokota
(former petty officer in the Imperial Japanese Navy) with the assistance
of a co-writer, Joseph D. Harrington.
Published by Ballantine Books, New York [1962].

The Kaiten was a torpedo 54 ft. long and carrying 3,000 lbs. of high
explosive in the warhead at its nose. And it could run at 40 knots
underwater.
