Great pics, Carsten, and an impressive looking rig!
Busby has a list of pressure test facilities in the US, but
it's over 30 years old. Does anyone have information on cost of services
by any of these?
I thought I would build a small testing chamber for components
such as compensated motors. Full size to accommodate the whole sub is
somewhat more of a challenge.

Just a
idea: bring most US Psubers together- each speed 100-200 dollar or so and one
of them build a steel test pressure test tank which all sponsors can be
use.. Can be build from used material as Reinhard did here in Europoe for
us. The psuber with the biggest sub should term the size. The psubers
with the greatest dive detph the pressure
resitance..

PS:
The Psubers with the smallest Sub has to spent more money because he has the
most fun with the tank - he can dive up and down and forward and aft in
it.. ;-o
Tank can any old big steel pipe or earth tank. Saftey factor
can be low with an overpressure valve. And internal pressure is anyway not
so critical. Fill the tank with water and pressurize the water with a
highpressure water cleaner..
Reinhards tank was below 4000 USD or so
and the water he use comes from his swimmingpool and gets after use back
to it..
Put the tank on a old truck flatbed and bring it with to the
next convention would be just perfect..
