Hi Alan You can only use the rated amperage regardless of the voltage rating. Two wires on the bigger connectors on positive and two for negative would be good for 100 amps. I am not sure about pricing and length of the leads Helge N From: alanjames@xtra.co.nz To: personal_submersibles@psubs.org Subject: [PSUBS-MAILIST] SubConn connector ratings Date: Wed, 3 Nov 2010 10:48:14 +1300 Hi.
I have a few connector questions.
I'm looking at the SubConn connectors & the contact ratings are 600 V @ 10 Amps for 2 pins.
I'm running a 12 Volt system, does this mean I can run up to 500 Amps at 12 volts through them,
or am I figuring wrong? I'm more likely going to be nearer 100 Amps.
Does anyone know what the micro series of connectors are priced at? Are they similarly priced
to the standard contacts?
How do I go about ordering a connector with a longer length of cable than that specified on the Psub site.
I believe you shouldn't take both positive & negative charge through the same connector, so I may need
more than the standard 2 ft length.
Regards Alan
