My 57ts sub runs abt. 4-5 knots on 40 kw electric power for around 6-8 hours. Thanks for those figures Carsten. Very interesting. I'll print and save
them for my files.
To Jon, it would be fun to see any sketches you have. We have all gone
through the early stages of sub design and for me it was one of the most fun
parts of the whole experience. Some of my early sketches were actually quite
comical. ( More dreaming than knowing ). As my studies continued I gained a
realistic perspective on what could be accomplished on a small budget and with
the skills available.
The archives on the psub site are a great place to start if you are
considering building a sub. There are as many designs as there are builders and
the boats range in size from tiny to large live-aboards.
All the projects share system designs that are similar.
The archives hold answers to most of the questions a new designer will
have.
Best of luck on your boat, Frank D.
