Sometimes I dive on some "reefs" in the baltic. 150feet long and 9 feet high. 
All of this is ammunition boxes with weapons of all class. Very rusty and crusted. 
Lucky nothing of this has the trigger in. No real danger. 

The gaspoision ammunition was loaded after the war in old or damaged ship and in 
german warship and scuttled in the baltic and the northsea. 100.000 of tons of it. 
No danger as long as it stays underwater. 
Danger starts only if fisherman or diver raised it by accident.. 

Maybe I will dive someday with the Euronaut to the scuttle field with all the old ship 
in the norwegian trench at 1000 feet in the north sea just to take some pictures and 
sonar scans of the condition.

fields in the baltic sea and the north sea are very big and 2 years ago I heared 
a discussion about the dangers specialy in front of the coast of Belgium and 
some experts believe any big storm can breack some of thies weapons and a gas 
could cloud that get to the surface and kill some thousend of people.
The places are well  known as well as the problem.  In Bornholm (Denmark) in the 
baltic sea the fishermen have special intructions to follow when they catch some 
dangerous "catch" like yellow "rocks" from old chemical weapons.  In the baltic 
sea some of these field are being cleaned because of the construction of the gas 
pipeline.
Until no accident occur nothing will happen, out of sight out of mind.
