Yes, it is for a K-350 that I am building from scratch. It does have 2 "O" rings per tru-hull. Would it be better to put 3 "O" rings in? it is a 3" long tru-hull. I really appriciate the info. Thanks, Scott Waters From: hc.fulton@gmail.com To: personal_submersibles@psubs.org Subject: RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] o ring Date: Sun, 13 Jun 2010 12:05:54 +1200 I would be happy using a common O’ring myself but I don’t know what your clearances are or if you have a double seal or if you have a groove wide enough for a backup ring etc. The pressures are not high Max 200 psi and O rings are used at 10 times that pressure and greater. Are you building the shaft and housing or is it for an old 350 and you are refurbishing. Any through hull is a bit more critical than a motor or some other gland. But your hatch O’ring is probably more important and that wouldn’t be anything too special.

It is for the K-350 tru-hull that rotates and turns the VBT on and off. What type of material is that "o" ring made of? Is that just like a common hardware store "o" ring? I just don't know anything about "o" rings besides what they do. From: hc.fulton@gmail.com What was the application. Your number seemed to be a mil spec 90 durometer but generally common O’rings are pretty resilient. Get the clearances and surface finishes right and good lubricant.
