RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] air pressure in ballast tank while surfacing
Jens, Is the ballast tank Hard or soft. Pressure will only be water
pressure plus any relief valve set pressure if it is hard buoyancy otherwise
just the water pressure. However if your outlet on your ballast tank is
small then you need to know your rate of ascent and the Cv of your
valve/outlet system. First question is Hard or soft buoyancy. Second
question is the water/air vents size. If it is designed correctly then the
water vents are many times bigger than the air vents. However Vance, Cliff
and the guys will have some ratios and rules of thumb. Hugh

Subject: [PSUBS-MAILIST] air pressure in ballast tank while surfacing
How do I calculate the pressure of the air cushion inside a ballast tank
while displacing seawater during surfacing?
Best regards,
Jens Laland
