Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Window Cleaner

Hi Vance,

Thanks for the info. I looked on the container and the only thing mentioned is that it contains isopropyl alcohol.

Any Thoughts?

Thanks Again,

I hope Greg has found something that acrylic is impervious to. I don't use Sika-Flex, so I'm not the guy to ask. But any solvent that interacts with acrylic will reduce its strength to some degree. Welding the stuff is done with solvents, for instance, so you don't want to go there.

Hi Vance,

I'm aware of the idea about solvents, However this particular cleaner is the first step recommended for installing acrylic, followed by sika 209 primer and sika-flex 295 UV as recommended by Greg Cottrel.

Am I missing something?

Subject: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Window Cleaner

Hi All,

I will be installing some of my small windows today. I will be using vinyl mask to protect the window from caulk during the installation. If I use the sika 226 cleaner to clean up any errant drops, am I OK?

Any comments appreciated.

Best Regards,
