Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] my optronic mast idea with sketch

Jon

"The lines of sight of the cameras are stabilized in elevation and azimuth
by means of gyroscopes", ref

http://www.zeiss.com/c1257088004a21ca/Contents-Frame/cc35c2e09e7b1f9ac1257125004015d5

I had the impression that the above statement referred to stabilize the
cameras, and not the observer.

So, if things also are the way you're saying, then even a usable optronic
mast would be far more complicated to copy, and build myself :)

Jens Laland

** Gyroscopes and/or accelerometers wired to small hydraulic "lifters"
** under your seat to counter any "bobbing" action by the water. Sort of
** like the anti-earthquake "mass" technology for skyscrapers where they
** put a huge mass (hundreds of tons) at the top of the building which
** moves in the opposite direction of the building (whether by wind or
** quake), thereby countering the movement and keeping the building steady
** and straight.
