Sorry Jens, the emails overlapsed. I hadn't seen your diagram & explanation when I posted. An old style rotating police or emergency light would be able to be canablized to mount a
camera on. You can pick them up for free off the side of the road.

I have also some small cameras that could be rotated in its horisontal
position within a suitable, small tubular 'glass' housing, but I assume
when you add on some high quality optics with mechanical, remote focus and
zoom... then things tend to grow a bit in overall size. That was at least
the reasoning behind my idea, as presented in my previous mail.

However, please do tell me about any smaller, alternative components you
see fit to use.
