I used a chunk of round stock steel that I turned to the proper OD and bored it to the ID of XXH pipe then put a pipe thread on each end.  I searched for pipe nipples but couldn't find them either.

where in the heck can you find 1 1/2" LG XXH pipe? I only need like 2 feet (not 21' sticks)
