Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Motor Controlers

Hi Oystein,

Thanks for the ideas. I am mounting just the board in the panel just ahead and to the left of me within very comfortable reach. I only have drawings of the controllers, not a physical example, but as far as my experience goes the Potentiometers are not spring loaded therefore I would not need to touch them except to make a change in power setting or direction of rotation.

Thanks for the input.

Best Regards,

I can only speak from the experience from operation ROV's. If you panel mount them onto a panel it can be very straining for your arms, neck and upper body if you constantly needs to hold on to them during operation. Is there any chance you can install them in a position where you can rest your arms while using them? For example on the armrest of the pilot seat or next to the armrest. ?

Hi All,

I am getting close to installing my Minnkota 101 thrusters. I was planning on stacking the controllers inside my electrical panel with space between them for cooling and just mounting the pot and reversing switches on the panel face. Does anyone have experience with this set-up. I think it will work fine and be tidy, however I am not sure how much heat will be generated by the three controllers.

Appreciate your input.

Best Regards,

Jim K
