[PSUBS-MAILIST] Engine intake and exhaust-Carsten?

Hi All,
I'm looking into schemes to handle the intake and exhaust for my
55 hp mercedes 190 engine. Carsten are you out there? How does Euronaught
handle that valving? Would it be as simple as large ball valves for both
intake and exhaust? Would there be a concern with excessive heat on the
exhaust side? I would like to run 2" to 3" pipe about 12 ft and then put
valves at the very end. The engine will have it's own compartment. Are
there some conventions that are tried and true for exhaust and intake, I
know the WWII subs had a big mushroom induction valve that was used.

Thanks

Brian
