Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Re: pressure sensors

Yea,

I think that the intersema part is mainly for dive computers. Not many divers need 50bar...

It's a nice part since it's calibrated, saltwater compatible, and inexpensive.

Although, there is also something to be said for a mechanical gauge with calibrated face too...

Andy,

I'll take you up on that offer and contact you offline. I agree with Vance that if we could design something as a kit, or just a HOW-TO white paper with a shopping list of parts and suppliers, it would be huge benefit. A 40 or 50bar sensor would be better but I didn't see a larger one on the intersema web site.

VideoRay uses the intersema part.

We mount the sensor into a fitting and pot it for the wet end.

There is then a ribbon cable coming out that would have to go to some sort of computer for a display. For those that care, it is an SPI signal.

I think we may be selling the potted units at some point. I'll let you know when and if we get pricing. I'd guess ~$100 or so, but not sure.

If someone wanted to just use that sensor and hook it up to something else I'd be happy to help however I could.
