Alan,

I agree that capturing data from the mailing list is a perfect use for the tool. It's best if that work is spread out among many, both to recognize important things to keep and also to spread the maintenance load. I have a bit more work to do on the interface to make it easy for people to add content but can then make it available to members through their accounts. Non-members could send material to members who could then add it.

Some user interface feedback would be appreciated as well to make sure the content was indexed properly and easy to find. Categories seems to be the best solution with a search option. If you have any suggestions, or want to "own" this part, send me mail.

Jon

Hi Jon,
Glad you're making moves toward the sub encyclopedia.
I agree that you couldn't have everybody just sticking stuff
in "Willy Nilly".
You made mention of a committee some time back, perhaps
they could have the final word on what goes in.
My main reason for suggesting this system a while back,
was to retain some of our email "Gems" that come up from
time to time & get lost in the archives. If a select group could
copy & paste these in when they come up, then we would be
writing a sub wikapedia in the course of our normal conversation.
If someone has something they specifically want in it, they could
first submit it to the group for critique' & then from there a commitee
member could enter it.
