RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Jim K's epoxy

I think I also found a really good high quality epoxy paint for the finish paint for my sub.  The product it Amerlock a high solids epoxy.  It mixes at a 1:1 ratio, I just got done applying it over the regular epoxy on this ferro cement hot tub that I'm finishing.  We'll see how it comes out.  The nice thing about this product is that they have just about every color of the rainbow availible.  I picked a light blue for my hot tub but I can see some real dymamic color possibilities for my sub !  They sell it as a two gallon mix, one part is the color pigment and the other is the resin / epoxy which reacts when mixed.  It sold for $115.00 for the two gallons.

Message for Jim K.  -  finally got to use some of that epoxy that you sent
me.  I have used it for a ferro-cement wood fired hot tub that I built last
year, I installed additional water heating pipes in the incorporated cement
fireplace that heats the water.  This is very close to the same application
that I will use on my sub so it will serve as instruction for that.  The
epoxy is a 2 to 1 mix and it seems to adhere very well, I applied it on the
concrete area that will see water.   Also made a penetration and epoxied in
a one inch pipe through the ferro cement for a drain plug.  Very gooie
stuff, but it sets up great,  with the cab-o-sil that I added it made it
very easy to position the gooped up piece of pipe into place.
