I could be missing something, but I don't see this as an issue.  The 
intent of the device is to get an idea of potential traffic or 
obstruction overhead prior to surfacing.  The solution is to simply shut 
off your motors while listening to the hydrophone, and shut off the 
hydrophone when running your motors.
