RE: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Double Seal Requirements of PVHO Certified Viewports

The viewport design that I'm using has a champor all the way around the edge of the acrylic where an O ring sits.  Then the retaining ring goes on top of that which puts pressure on the O ring and basically holds the acrylic in place.  The O ring makes the seal and then you also have the flat viewport seating against the viewport flange with some sort of gasket inbetween the acrylic and the steel flange.  I think there is a picture of this on the psubs site.

Section 3 says the "gasket under the retaining ring" is one of the seals. The sikaflex or O ring or flange gasket is the other.
It says no O ring groove in the window or seat, so where would you put it? In the side of the mounting ring?
