Hi Frank, We will have to check for where to best obtain the proper spec cast acrylic sheets and go from there. I had been thinking of using the Spartech Polycast brand. http://www.spartech.com/polycast.html I've got another local PSUB's buddy that is gearing up to build a sub, that might be able to go in with use. I'm changing my forward window to 3 inch thick, and also adding two smaller lower side windows I've mentioned to you before, that I might like to use 2" material on. My side conning tower acrylic is 1.25" and I was looking at using a large 24 inch by 3" thick flat viewport as the main part of the hatch with a UHMW seat that it is clamped onto with a SS V clamp. I spoke to my aqua jet buddy yesterday of make sure I noted the nozzle size and garnet size and feet rate we use. He said we can cut 4' x 8' sheets in his machines if need be. I've been looking at computer controls for a large electric annealing oven we would need to finish out the acrylic. Also my relative is gearing up to build another six person hyperbaric chamber, and we want to put some large windows in that, some of which might have an aquarium on the other side of them, that we could use 2" acrylic for. I need windows, and two of them are 2 inch thick by 16 inch dia. disks. The other is 3 inch by 24 dia. If you're up for it, we could share in the cost of a sheet. Frank D.
