I have been on several dives in San Diego since the "squid invasion".   
I went on a night dive last night at La Jolla shores (where a majority  
of the encounters have been) and we didnt see any Humbolts. The word  
among local divers is that they have been leaving the area over the  
last three days.  I have seen a few dead/dying ones close to shore but  
that's about it. For the most part the squids are just curious, not  
agressive.

Certainly not a reason to stop diving!! This is just an example of  
typical media hype.
