David,
            Why are you think they will not have any use on small submersibles?

   Having been in the Navy as a sonar technician, I was really curious if I could actually pull off a trainable passive sonar system. In that such a system would require almost constant investigation, it would really have little or no use aboard these really small submarines but perhaps some larger vessels could see a use for such a system.
   It is really just a personal challenge that I undertook this project. It would still be interesting to see how effective and accurate this set up will be.
