Subject: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Minn Kota V Motor Guide

Hi All,

Ive got several quotes for both Minn Kota and Motor Guide trolling motors. 80lb thrust, 24v.

Looking at both systems, i prefer the Minn Kota. Im not sure why, but they just look better quality (and there is an agent here for spare parts).

BUT, im concerned about this interferance problem. Is it really a big problem? Is there no way around this?

What about the seperate battery system as Alec suggested? How about some sort of suppresor?

Im not sure im going to put in a "proper" sonar, but i will have a fish finder echo sounder unit. It would be a real pain if it didnt work.

Anyway, i am going to buy complete motor units and use the existing motor controllers. Just seems easier to me.

Any last minute thoughts before i commit. Minn Kota or Motor Guide......?

As usual, no one else to ask other than people in the club.....

Thanks
James
