Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Submersible Cost and Time to Build

Alan I agree with Carsten. 1000 hrs is much more reasonable. I am on my second year of a highly
modified K350. I did not keep track of the time, but it is substantial. I will get in the water yet
this year, but have come to the conclusion will probably spend all next winter redoing everything
after testing. I have also come to the conclusion trying to put a close dollar figure on it is very
difficult. Material costs have really gone up in the last two yrs.

Having the right tools is also very important. I had a fairly complete workshop to begin with and
don't think I would start without it. I have worn out two grinders, a metal sheer, 1/2 inch drill, a
die grinder, and much of my body heheh

The key I think is to have fun

Good luck

Assuming I do most of the work, will $16K buy the materials for a dry, one atmosphere, two person submersible with a trailer?

Does it take 200, 300, or 400 hours to build one?
