Vance,

Lets get real! This thing is approaching the set anticipated range goals but we must remember that this is straight broadband and contains no carrier. Once boat traffic, biologics and other ambient noises enter the scene, this range will deminish as these other noises get louder.
I am trying for an inexpensive system that should provide reliable, short to mid range underwater voice communications. It seems this goal may yet be met.
A range extension modification in the form of a more powerful amplifier has been located and could increase the range of this transmission while not requiring additional dc voltage levels.
The testing session in the Bahamas should also reveal the true limitations of this simple system as it would function in salt water.

Hi david, I went to a lake today for test two.  we talked at 350 feet apart, the only problem is #2 needs to be upgraded with cb mike and a set of headphones witch i might fix up this week and then next weekend test #3.   Les
