Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] update Kreidesee

Hi Cliff
the MBT has over 650 Liters lift and the hard tank
has 90 liters. Total Bouancy of both tanks 32 %.
The vbt hard tank can compensate one person complete.

Thanks for the technical update.  The web site has the displacement at 2.4 tons.  I am assuming this is metric tons so 2400 kg.  With an ROB of 150 kg this gives a ROB as a percent of displacement of 6.25% which seems low looking at the pictures.  Maybe the 150 kg was for only 1/2 the total displacement of the MBTs?

Good luck on the build.

Cliff,  (and other interested)

There is now a page with  technical date and description.
http://www.airesearch.nl/index_bestanden/Page746.htm

leaves some of your questions open.

-one person can be compensated with the VBT. But for a long, deep mission  with 2 persons, you can take extra battery’s  Soda lime etc. with you
-However built by standards of ABS /GL , no certification is planned  It is sold as a “submarine building kit”
-reserve buoyancy is about 150 Kg

Excellent progress on Kreideseesub (what does this name translate into in English)!  Nice design.  Can you tell us some design specifications.  I can't read German but it looks like the design depth is 250 km .  Is this correct.  With the design being for 2 or 3 persons, how are you going to handle the ballast difference between 1, 2 or 3 persons, +/- 70 kg per person, i.e.,  removable fixed ballast or extra large variable ballast tank?  What is the hull made out of? Are you going to design for extended dives with CO2 scrubbing and O2 makeup? What is the main propulsion bus voltage? Are you planning on classing the boat?  How do you plan to launch and retrieve the boat?  What is the displacement and reserve of buoyancy?

Keep up the pictures.

Cliff

Hi,

The last 2 week I did 90% of Kreideseesub hull.
A professional welder did the welding.
