Frank, One more thing...We would be interested in just how well the unaided ear (Such as a diver) would pick up this broadband voice communications, and if up close, would the diver be forced to protect his or her hearing from damage. This information would be nice to know should one be using this to convey the conditions within a dissabled submarine to any incomming outside assistance. Les is talking about cutting a whole in the ice of a nearby lake with a chainsaw! Man, talking about a cold idea...brrrr CAUTION: Care must be exercised when conducting this testing so that hearing loss is not the end result. I recommend starting the testing on an unaided ear on the lowest transmit level and within a controlled environment such as a swimming pool and slowly and in a protective manner increase the transmit levels until satisfied of the results. I saw that submarine advertised a while back. Ya, too bad they couldn't keep it going. I think I remember them saying they were using it to harvest sunken old growth trees.
Work on my little sub continues, and I hope to hear from you and Les about the latest tests. My buddy with the boat is repairing his motor and hopefully will be able to take me out to try the one you sent me. I'm hoping to pick up sounds from whales or dolphins. I'll have it recorded, and hope to put up a youtube video with sound of the test if he can get that old motor working soon. Keep up the good work. Frank D. A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above.
