There should be only two ways to send spam to the list now. One is to actually go through the registration process which requires two separate manual steps to thwart auto-signup mechanisms. Of course, once they a message they expose themselves and are deleted from the list. This prevents 99.9% of the spammers since it's not worth the trouble for them. The second method I won't tell you, because then people will use it against us, and is likely what has occurred to produce the spam message you referenced. Given the amount of data that passes through the server, I'm pretty happy with the lack of spam we experience. The bottom line is that we can't stop determined people who are willing to spend time finding weak spots in the software. We're a big target and people like to screw with us.
