David,
As you know,
I have a number of hydrophones ready to go, as well as the underwater camera and
light housings you created. Rather than making new ones, give me some more
time to send mine out, if for no other reason than I need to get some trunk
space back from my car (where they are all currently
located).
Also, my
presentation for the convention is pretty comprehensive both on step-by-step
design, as well as having the circuit diagrams and pointers to suppliers.
I'll try to get that online this weekend. In the meantime, for those not
familiar with the units, check out the "Members Projects" page on the web site
and go to "Other Research". There are photos there.

Gday David,
It would be great if it was possible to get
instructions, circuit diagrams, component list and circuit board details or
anything you have .
I have been thinking about building a hydrophone for
some time now and this would be a good start.
Thanks and hoping to hear from you.
Regards, Clive Wood. I can let you have my email if that
is more convenient.

Hydrophones
Frank, I will in the weeks ahead produce
the single hydrophone intended for installation aboard your boat. This is
being done so that you could mount this device early with the use of the
proper thru-hull fitting. It can be placed within a ballast tank and will
hear thru this as long as water is present on both sides. This will not
create additional drag if installed in this or likewise manner. I will set
up a small process whereby many can be produced at the same
time...So.... Does anyone else want a preproduced
hydrophone for installation aboard other submarines or for perhaps testing?
Perhaps the how-to-instructions so that you could build your
own? I used an all electronics preamp kit and all
electronics 7watt amplifier kit and these worked great together allthough
other electronics could provide equally good results. Go to
allelectronics.com for ordering info. The preamp was less than $10.00 with
the 7watt amplifier close to $15.00. All that is left is a small 12vdc
battery and a small project box to fit it all in withy the panel controls
and on/off switch. If you want to take this plunge, here
is a great chance to dive
in.
