Brent. The K boat design for rudders is a proven design, and should be
fine. I personally don't like shafts penetrating the hull, but that's just me.
I'll be using electric actuators, and if that gives me grief, will switch to
hydraulics. There are however, some two position pneumatic cylinders that would
work nicely also. That was my first choice a while back because it could fail in
the upright position by using the spring return you mentioned. I'm going with
the electrics because it simplifies the controls. Frank
