20 guys? Try 83 during WWII! We were down to about 60 personnel when I was  on  the USS Torsk in the late 60s. It's now the museum boat in Baltimore.

Not much room in that thing when you consider there was 20 guys in it. I can imagine how cramped the Seehunds were. Even the Marlin S101 was limited in space because of the huge battery bank it had. I wonder how long the average psub dive is? I guess that would probably depend on how much air they have and what the battery duration is, but I doubt most dives by psubbers push the limits of their reserves.
